The Sleep Shirt

it’s rare that i stop to think about my sleepwear and how fashionable it is.
i used to get my brother’s old g.i. joe’s pyjamas and since then,
it’s been a boyish look affair.
but look what i’ve found!

fancy sleepwear!
the sleep shirt is a nightshirt.
it is for men and women.
it comes in two lengths.
it is made from cotton, in Canada.
it is the best way to sleep.

i’ve asked Alexandra Suhner Isenberg, the designer, a couple of questions about her sleep:

i found a 19th century men’s chemise in spitalfield’s market in London. I started sleeping in it, and realized it was the best nightwear i’d ever worn. that’s when i decided it was a product that had great potential, and decided to start manufacturing a similar version to sell as the sleep shirt.

giant, oversized harley davidson t-shirts. very tacky.

once I’ve brushed my teeth, washed my face, etc…, I like to watch a TV show on my laptop in bed, before going to sleep. it is my downtime. right now it is the 5th season of damages or breaking bad.

all sorts of ridiculous dreams right now, because i am pregnant. it is normal to have strange dreams when you are expecting, and the ones i have been having have been very weird.

usually it is going to say hi to my one year old son (who is my alarm clock.) he is so happy and fresh and nice in the mornings, it almost makes getting out of bed worth it. then i pass him over to my husband for a diaper change!
